James W. Schlotter, M.D., F.A.C.S.General and Vascular SurgeonDr. Schlotter has specialized in general and vascular surgery since 1989. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas in 1976, he attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, graduating in the top 10% of his class. Dr. Schlotter did post-graduate training at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. He then completed a general surgery residency in 1989 and was a chief resident at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Schlotter has a special interest in peripheral vascular surgery. He is Board Certified with the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American College of Phlebology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Michelle SchlotterOffice Manager/Medical AssistantMichelle joined Dr. Schlotter’s practice in February 1996. She has worked as a medical office manager in San Marcos since 1990 when she moved here with her family. She does the work of an office manager but also assists patients when they need to schedule surgeries in or out of the office. Additionally, she assists the doctor in surgical and nursing care in the back office when needed. She loves working with patients and helping them to solve their insurance and funding issues. In her free time, she enjoys her family, visiting friends, crocheting, and traveling. |

Nancy BanningFront Office AssistantNancy joined the practice in May of 2005. She greets each patient as they check-in to the office, answers the telephone, makes appointments and answers patient’s questions. Her interest includes spending time with her family, daughter Caitlyn, their family dog Lacy, and their 4H Holland Lop rabbits. She also enjoys taking road trips, shopping, Zumba and watching NASCAR races. |

Mari CastellanosMedical AssistantMari joined the practice in March 2010. She performs all post and pre-op duties and assists Dr. Schlotter with surgical procedures as well as triage. Outside the office, Mari enjoys spending time with her three girls.
